What Is the NCCA and Why Should You Register?

The National Contract Cleaners Association (NCCA) is the industry body that regulates and supports professional cleaning businesses in South Africa. If you want to bid for large cleaning contracts or work with government and corporate clients, knowing how to register with the NCCA is essential.

Benefits of NCCA Registration for Cleaning Companies

  • Access to more tenders and contracts — government and corporate clients prefer NCCA members
  • Enhanced trust and professional reputation — proves your company meets industry standards
  • Free annual compliance audits — helps you stay compliant with labour and safety regulations
  • Industry training and legal updates — stay informed about changes affecting your business
  • Support with compliance and labour regulations — including NBC and bargaining council matters

💡 Pro Tip: Many large corporate and government cleaning tenders require NCCA membership as a prerequisite. Without it, your tender submission won’t even be considered — no matter how competitive your pricing is.

Step-by-Step: How to Register with the NCCA in South Africa

Step 1: Gather Your Compliance Documents

Ensure all documents listed above are ready and up to date. Expired or incomplete documents will result in your application being rejected. We gather and prepare all required documentation on your behalf as part of our R990 facilitation service.

Step 2: Complete the NCCA Membership Application Form

Complete the official NCCA Membership Application Form and choose your membership type:

  • Contract Cleaning Company (with or without cleaners)
  • Supplier/Associate Member

Select your region or apply for national membership (all branches except KZN).

Step 3: Submit Your Application to the NCCA

Email your completed application and supporting documents to your regional NCCA branch. For national membership, contact: national@ncca.co.za

Step 4: Wait for Approval and Invoice

Only once your application is approved will you receive an invoice to make payment. Do not pay before receiving your invoice — the NCCA processes applications before issuing payment requests.

Step 5: Attend a Compliance Workshop (Zero Cleaners Only)

If you have no cleaners on your books yet, you’ll be required to attend a mandatory compliance workshop. A probationary membership letter will be issued thereafter.
